What is your position at Zennify and what do you do?
Sr Salesforce Developer. Working with my project team, I make magic happen behind the scenes to deliver a smooth workflow for our clients that enhances user adoption and facilitates a digital transformation of their business.
How long have you been working with Zennify?
I joined April of 2019, it’s almost been a year
What does your average day look like?
In the morning I may catch up on emails, especially if I’m waiting to hear back on any task that’s blocked. Communicating any updates to customer teams to keep things moving forward on the project. There may be a stand-up to attend to provide updates on current tasks.
Then I’ll have time set aside to work on development tasks, including QA, Code Reviews, or helping another developer overcome a hurdle on their project. I utilize multiple monitors to be able to work on a task while being able to simultaneously reference documentation and verify that elements are working as expected.
What motivates you at work?
I’ve worked on dozens of projects over the years that have solidified my knowledge of Salesforce, so I like to focus on projects that require that level of skill and also push me to the next level. I don’t care much for mundane tasks, keeping me motivated requires projects that require the precision and skill equivalent of “SEAL Team Six” to complete the mission.
What is your favorite work perk?
I think the Unlimited PTO policy, and how it’s approached as a tool to genuinely allow team members to take the time off they need after a demanding project. Our team contributes a lot to make a project successful, making it important to have a mechanism to help balance work/life and prevent burn-out.
What is your favorite part of your role?
Solving challenging problems for customers and exploring the boundaries across the Salesforce Platform to develop a deeper understanding of the platform. In consulting you’re provided an opportunity to support several clients which, while demanding, enables you to explore and master features of the platform more rapidly than as a traditional end user.
What do you enjoy most about working for Zennify?
The awareness of and constant improvement of company culture. A majority of the day is spent working with your team, making it important to be around people who share a common vision and that you can also learn from. Everyone has their individual strengths, but it’s important to be around people that can help identify and work on your weaknesses. It seems like that is a focus from leadership down.
What’s one piece of advice you would give someone considering a career in your role?
Be ready to learn quickly if you’re new to the platform! While that may seem scary, you’ll have plenty of internal support to conquer any roadblocks. It’s a great opportunity to quickly elevate your skillset and work with a great group of people at a company that values you as an individual and truly demonstrates that through their actions. We’re constantly working on ways to support the growth of the team and make things fun in the process.
