Employee Spotlight: Shawn Murray

What is your position at Zennify and what do you do?

Solution Architect. I design the end solution, so the smart people can build it.

How long have you been working with Zennify?

Four years.

How has Zennify supported you in your career goals?

Zennify completely redefined my career goals. Before I started here I wasn’t sure what sort of career path I wanted to go down. Zennify introduced me to the world of Salesforce consulting, and now I can’t imagine doing anything else.

What has your journey with Zennify looked like?

I came in with little knowledge and experience in the industry, but a strong ambition to learn and develop. I was able to work my way up, obtaining the position I had targeted as being the best fit for my skill set.

What’s your favorite part of working for Zennify?

Unlimited free coffee. And the freedom I’ve had to pursue a career that I truly enjoy doing everyday. I’ve never been held back from doing anything I want to do if I was willing to put in the work for it.

How has Zennify grown since you’ve been here?

When I started there were three other guys. To see it go from that, to the size we are today is completely astonishing. When I come in every day and look around our brand new office space, full of so many amazing people, I cannot believe how far we have come.

What does your average day look like?

Multiple calls with the client and with the team. Most of my job is providing direction to all of the developers working on my account, making sure they are clear on what they are building and how it needs to fit in with everything that everyone else is working on.

Is there anything else you would like to add about your experience and success with Zennify?

I am extremely grateful for Nathan Mueller for taking a chance on me. He brought me in when I didn’t have the typical resume that a company like this would look for, and gave me a chance. That is what I love about this company. They are willing to give people a shot, and if those people are willing to work for it, the sky’s the limit.

What advice do you have to other’s who are considering a career in this industry?

Utilize Trailhead and Salesforce certifications. It’s free to get started, and there is high demand for people with Salesforce knowledge. I’ve been telling anyone who will listen about this as a potential alternative to traditional colleges that rack up debt and don’t guarantee a job after you graduate.
